The Journal of STEM Leadership and Broadening Participation
Journal Description
The Journal of STEM Leadership and Broadening Participation (JSLBP) is a publication of the Center for the Advancement of STEM Leadership. The JSLBP captures, supports, and publishes peer-reviewed scholarly works that are related to the myriad ways in which leaders – of all administrative and faculty levels – of our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and elsewhere challenge historic disciplinary traditions and influence institutional conditions to create successful broadening participation outcomes.
The JSLBP is designed to offer the reader a deeper insight into new and culturally responsive conceptualizations of leadership for broadening participation. As such, it captures the voices of HBCU STEM leaders and others, while also offering critical information that all STEM faculty and administrators require for building institutional capacity in navigating the cultural complexities and nuances of recruiting and retaining diverse students in STEM.
The JSLBP publishes scholarly works related to the reflections, practices, styles, and strategies of STEM leaders from all professorial and administrative levels who are particularly focused on broadening the participation of minoritized students in STEM fields. The JSLBP is deeply committed to STEM leaders within our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
